It was a pleasure to visit Woodfield Primary School with Sally Jameson last week to present Anu with her prize for the fantastic letter she submitted as part of the National Literacy Trust in Doncaster ‘Dear Ed’ competition. The competition was run in partnership with Rotary Club – Doncaster Knights.
Children from schools across Doncaster were invited to write to me about climate change and the environment. I was delighted to receive hundreds of thoughtful and inspiring letters from pupils across 16 schools, and I was incredibly impressed by their knowledge, understanding and passion for looking after the environment.
It is encouraging to see so many young people in Doncaster taking an interest in the environmental challenges we face and the opportunities to protect our planet.
Thank you to everyone who took part and to the schools across Doncaster for supporting the competition.
