It was great to visit Long Toft Primary School in Stainforth last week, and to be welcomed by the school’s Pupil Ambassadors who gave me a fantastic tour around the school.
I visited the Key Stage 2 classes, where the children presented me with letters they’d written for the Great Green Read writing competition. Each letter was as engaging as the next, so thank you very much for putting such effort into these letters.
It was inspiring to hear what they’ve been learning about, and the pupils asked me some very thoughtful questions about my work as their MP and as the Energy Secretary.
I was genuinely impressed by the quality of their questions and how engaged they are with important issues like climate change and protecting the rainforests. It’s inspiring to see young people in Doncaster North taking such an interest in protecting our planet and understanding the challenges we face.
Thank you to all the staff and pupils at Long Toft Primary School for such a warm welcome.
Schools like this are what make Doncaster North such a special place to represent.
