Last week I had the pleasure of attending a Remake Learning event at Stainforth Community Resource Centre in Stainforth, where I watched a fantastic fashion show and met some inspiring local people.
The event showcased a community project, where participants transformed old clothes and textiles into stylish new pieces. They received expert training and design guidance from Estelle Pearce of Fashion Fusion CIC, a specialist in sustainable fashion, upcycling and natural dyeing.
It was also great to speak with advisors from Doncaster Council, Well Doncaster, Unity and other organisations who were on hand for Stainforth residents with employment advice, guidance and support.
Events like this highlight the excellent work being done locally to create opportunities for my constituents in Stainforth, and I’m committed to supporting more initiatives like this.
