I had a fantastic visit to St Joseph and St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School in Woodlands last week, where I met with Headteacher Tom Kowalski to discuss an issue that matters deeply to parents and staff alike: road safety outside the school gates.
The school is rightly concerned about traffic speeds on the main road, and there’s strong support for introducing a 20mph limit to better protect children at drop-off and pick-up times. I’m committed to working alongside the school to push for these vital safety measures.
It was also a pleasure to spend time with the pupils, talking about what MPs do, my work in government, and how young people can make a difference in their own communities. These conversations are always one of the highlights of my job – speaking with young people in my constituency about their futures inspires me every day.
