I was meant to meet with Arriva this week but disappointingly they asked for the meeting to be rearranged so I am now meeting with them in early September.

It is clear that the current bus service is not meeting the needs of constituents, with large parts of Norton and Campsall not being on the bus route as well as the journey to the city centre taking a long time. I am deeply concerned about the social isolation for many elderly and disabled residents now that they are unable to access a bus to get to the shops and also it is clear that there is a need for cross-county buses so that people can access jobs and education in Pontefract and Selby.

I will ensure that I make all of these issues clear to Arriva when I meet with them in September and will keep you updated.
