I’m thrilled that the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority has today approved £160m of Gainshare funding to reopen Doncaster Sheffield Airport.This is great news for the region, as it will bring jobs, growth and new opportunities to the whole of South Yorkshire. I know my constituents in Doncaster North will be incredibly excited about this announcement.
A huge thank you to Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones, who has tirelessly fought for the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, as well as Oliver Coppard and SYMCA for their continued support and commitment.
This is a big moment for Doncaster and for South Yorkshire, and I am proud of the efforts that have got us here.
