Doncaster Climate Change Commission

Ed is delighted to have been asked by the Mayor Ros Jones to chair the Doncaster Climate Change Commission looking at how Doncaster can play its part in tackling the climate emergency. There are huge opportunities for Doncaster in tackling the climate crisis through investment in low carbon projects which bring better jobs and better lives for people.

The first meeting was held this week at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve and Ed was really pleased to be joined by a wide range of people from across Doncaster, including two members of the Youth Parliament, councillors from across the political divide, representatives from the private sector and Doncaster Council.

Over the coming weeks and months, the Commission will be reaching out to members of the community, young and old, to hear from you about your priorities in tackling this emergency.

Tomorrow marks an important global moment in the movement to raise the priority of this issue. Ed will be joining young people at tomorrow’s Doncaster climate strike. Sound the Alarm for Climate Change is part of a national effort to unite people in tackling climate change and Ed is pleased Doncaster Council are supporting the action.
