A free screening of an award-winning climate change film is being hosted.
This Changes Everything is being shown at Bentley Baptist Church, on Askern Road, Bentley, DN5 0EW, on Saturday (November 21).
Doors open at 6.30pm.
It is open to anyone, and there is no need to book in advance.
The event has been organised by Ed, who is a former Energy Secretary, in conjunction with the church, to raise awareness of climate change issues.
He introduced the Climate Change Act, which requires the UK to cut carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050.
Ed said: “Tackling climate change is one of the most important things politicians can do for the long-term future of our country and future generations.
“This film shows that the challenge is not just a global responsibility, it is an economic necessity.
“I’d invite anyone who has an interest in climate change issues, or those who want to learn more, to come along on Saturday evening, watch the film, and share their opinions with me and others.”
The film is inspired by Naomi Klein’s bestseller This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate.
It follows number of communities – from Montana’s Powder River Basin to the Alberta Tar Sands – which face climate change issues.
